MANSON, Samantha Clearwater

Samantha Caroline Cleadwaters (sic), the oldest child of John and Matilda Clearwaters, was horn Dec. 1’!). in Warren township, Putnam county Indiana and departed this life Oct 21, 1912, being eighty-two, nine months and twenty-two days old at the time of her death.  She was united in marriage to William Manson March 28 1852.  To this union was born eight children: Archibold who died in infancy; John F, William M, deceased; Laura I, Charles E, Albert A, Mary A and Ezra. She also leaves 35 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She was united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Old Bethel at the early age of 17, during the pastorate of the Rev. Williams. She lived a constant and faithful Christian life until called to her reward.  She was of a cheerful, kind and love disposition at all times deeply devoted to her family and constant in friendship to her neighbors. She took deep interest in the success of her children, at all times giving motherly advice and encouragement to them. Her last sickness was of short duration being confined to the bed only about 10 days. During her sickness she expressed no with to get well, saying she had spent a loving and happy life and was willing and ready to meet her God. =kz
